Town of East Hampton Assessment Aide in the Assessor’s Office-$46,787.47 annually for a 35-hour work week. The employee in this title performs specialized field and office work in the collection and evaluation of data for assessing property.
- Assembles data on real property and prepares it for review
- Assists in the inspection of land and structures in person or using GIS computerized system; makes sketches and takes notes on findings
- Transfers information gained in the field to individual assessment cards
- Downloads plans and surveys from PaperVision Software
- Reads and interprets Suffolk County Tax Map books; may review deeds and maps for the location of a property
- Performs general office work consisting of filing, tracing maps and layouts, revising assessment cards and assisting the public
- May assist technical staff in compiling comparable sales data work-ups for grievance and/or Small Claims proceedings
- Performs general office work consisting of filing, tracing maps and layouts, revising assessment cards and assisting the public
- Operates standard office equipment, including desk calculators, adding machines; demonstrates a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Does related work as needed
This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, and the annual salary is $46,787.47. Benefits include paid vacation and sick time, enrollment in the New York State and Local Retirement System and health care and dental and vision coverage. The minimum qualification is graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT-At the time of appointment and during employment in this title, employees must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
