Brush Amnesty Program Returns on April 15 • Southampton, NY


BRUSH AMNESTY PROGRAM – SPRING 2026

Waste Management will accept brush brought to the transfer stations by residential self-haulers at no cost April 15 – May 31. Branches and/or twigs less than 3” in diameter may be brought to these transfer stations:

Hampton Bays: 7 days a week, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

North Sea: 7 days a week, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Westhampton: 6 days a week, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (closed Wednesdays)

(Please note: Brush/Leaves are NOT accepted at Sag Harbor Transfer Station.)

Please keep brush separate from leaves. Only brush-filled biodegradable bags will be accepted. Residents using plastic bags to transport brush will be asked to open them upon arrival.

PROOF OF RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED TO DISPOSE. Part-time residents may participate in the program. If your driver’s license shows an out-of-town primary address or a P.O. Box, please bring a utility bill showing a physical address in the Town of Southampton.

LANDSCAPERS ARE EXCLUDED and may continue to dispose of yard waste materials at Hampton Bays and North Sea Transfer Stations for a fee. Fees are charged in accordance with the fee schedule.

REMINDERS:

  • No logs or brush greater than 3” in diameter will be accepted.
  • Loose leaves are accepted from self-hauling residents for free year-round at Hampton Bays, North Sea, and Westhampton transfer stations.
  • Transfer Stations (excluding Sag Harbor) have free compost & mulch available.
