La Herencia is a nine-piece Salsa, Cumbia, and Latin Soul powerhouse based in Long Island, NY. Led by pianist and bandleader Nick Corredor, the group is on a mission to revive the golden era of salsa and bring its infectious rhythms back to the mainstream. Rooted in the sound of Alegre Records and Fania Records, La Herencia blends raw percussion, deep brass, and the elegance of woodwinds and strings to create a groove reminiscent of Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, The Lebrón Brothers, and Willie Colón. Corredor, a Colombian American musician with deep ties to the salsa and Latin music scene, brings a modern edge while staying true to the genre’s rich history.
