Request for Applications (General Projects RFA)
East Hampton Town is accepting applications on a rolling basis from interested persons and organizations for funding in the form of grants or loans for community housing projects that will provide affordable housing for East Hampton’s residents. Proposed projects must result in an increase in or improvement to community housing opportunities in East Hampton through the creation, rehabilitation, conversion, design, or maintenance of community housing, and meet the objectives required by the adopted Local Law, Chapter 112 of the East Hampton Town Code, and the Peconic Bay Region Community Housing Fund.
Applications may be submitted by any individual, nonprofit or for-profit organization, Incorporated Village, or East Hampton Town Department.
Examples of projects potentially eligible for funding through this General Projects RFA include:
- Purchase of land for the creation of new housing
- Purchase of existing homes and/or existing rental units for conversion to community housing
- Construction of new homes and/or new rental units for community housing
- Maintenance of existing rental units for community housing

This program is made available through the East Hampton Town Community Housing Fund, an ongoing source of funding for affordable housing programs made possible by East Hampton voters’ approval in 2022 of a half-percent tax on real estate transfers.
Funds for First-Time Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance will NOT be issued through this program, but a separate, targeted program.
