Memorial Bench | East Hampton Town, NY

Memorial Bench on Town Property

The process for requesting a Memorial Bench for placement on Town property is as follows:

Donors choose a location within East Hampton Town and submit a request by filling out the Memorial Bench Application and mailing it to or dropping it off at the following address:

Town Board
159 Pantigo Road
East Hampton, NY 11937

Information must include the name of the person being dedicated/remembered, (or all other verbiage to be written on the plaque/bench) and the exact location of the bench by using Google Maps images (aerial and ground photos) with the requested locations specifically marked.

The Town of East Hampton’s Buildings and Grounds department will visit the requested site and identify the availability and feasibility of installing the memorial bench in the requested area. If the site is available, the Buildings and Grounds department will notify the memorial bench liaison and the liaison’s assistant.

Upon confirmation of the availability of the location from the Town’s Buildings and Grounds department, and when confirmed by the liaison, a resolution is drafted and scheduled for approval by the East Hampton Town Board during a Town Board meeting.

Upon approval from the Town Board, the resolution approving the memorial bench donation is emailed to the donor as a confirmation receipt.

For bench requests on Main Street in Amagansett, please contact the Amagansett Village Improvement Society.
