The Town of East Hampton will hold its first of four S.T.O.P. Days on March 14, 2026, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Montauk Transfer Station located at 365 Montauk Highway, Montauk, NY 11954.
Residents are encouraged to use this opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste items in their homes, including:
East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez said, “S.T.O.P. Days are an opportunity to not only protect yourself and those in your household, but also your entire community. Proper disposal of hazardous materials prevents dangerous chemicals from entering our groundwater, harming water quality, and damaging our environment. Thank you to our residents for doing their part to protect what makes East Hampton such a special place to live.”
This program is open only to Town of East Hampton residents. Materials that are brought from those who live outside the boundaries of the Town cannot be accepted. Hazardous waste will not be accepted prior to the event.
The next S.T.O.P Day at the Montauk Transfer Station will be November 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Two additional S.T.O.P. events will be held at the East Hampton Recycling Center on June 13, 2026, and September 12, 2026, both from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
