Water Quality Improvement Plan | East Hampton Town, NY

The mission of the Community Preservation Fund is to preserve community character through land aquisition and preservation since its onset in 1999.  In 2016, the Town of East Hampton overwhelmingly supported the extension of the CPF tax through 2050 as well as the allowance of the protection and improvement of water quality by funding improvement projects using up to 20% of the annual CPF fund.

The Town of East Hampton adopted Water Quality Improvement Plan is a guidance document which lays the groundwork for priority areas, projects and programs to be implemented by the Town.

The priorities set forth in the plan outline ways the Town can;

– Reduce the inputs of pollutants to our waterbodies;

– Remediate existing pollution in soil and groundwater; and

– Restore water quality in impacted areas as well as continue to protect pristine water quality in our Town.
