East Hampton Town Board Appoints Emily Fisher as Human Resources Department Head • East Hampton Town, NY

The East Hampton Town Board has appointed Emily Fisher as the Town’s new head of the Human Resources Department, as Personnel Assistant, effective retroactive to April 20, 2026.

A dedicated public servant with deep roots in Town government, Fisher brings nearly two decades of experience to the role. Since November 2025, she has served in a temporary appointment overseeing Human Resources, where she has already demonstrated strong leadership and a thoughtful approach to supporting Town employees.

“This is a wonderful and well-earned moment for Emily,” said Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez. “She has grown with this Town, served in so many different roles, and built the kind of knowledge and perspective that cannot be taught overnight. Just as importantly, she cares deeply about this workforce, and I am so pleased to see her officially lead our Human Resources Department.”

Emily began her career with the Town of East Hampton in 2009 as a part-time Traffic Control Officer. In 2015, she joined the Building Department as a part-time clerk and was appointed Account Clerk in that department in 2016. In 2017, she moved to the Justice Court as an Account Clerk. In 2018, she became a Senior Office Assistant, splitting her time between Human Resources and Purchasing. In 2022, she joined Payroll as a Senior Account Clerk and was promoted to Principal Account Clerk effective January 1, 2023. In November 2025, she was given a temporary appointment to oversee Human Resources. Her appointment as Personnel Assistant and department head reflects years of experience across Town operations and a strong record of service to the organization. 

“It is an honor to step into this role and continue serving the Town of East Hampton,” said Emily Fisher. “I have had the privilege of working in several departments over the years, and each experience has given me a deeper appreciation for the people who keep this organization running. I look forward to supporting our employees and helping the Town continue to move forward.”

Her appointment is also a meaningful moment for a family with a long history of service to the Town. Emily’s husband, CJ Fisher, has worked for the Town since 2007, her sister Amanda Bennett since 2008, and her mother, Betsy Bono, joined the Town workforce in 2023.
