Town of East Hampton Earns Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting • East Hampton Town, NY

The Town of East Hampton has once again been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year the Town has received this distinction.

The Town was deemed proficient in all categories, reflecting the continued strength of its accuracy, and transparency in its financial reporting under the leadership of Town Administrator and Budget Officer Becky Hansen.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. It is awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada to governments whose annual comprehensive financial reports meet the high standards of the program and clearly communicate their financial story to the public.

“This recognition speaks to the care and professionalism that our finance team brings to this work every day,” said East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez. “Receiving this award for a fourth consecutive year says a great deal about Town Administrator and Budget Officer Becky Hansen’s leadership and the high standard she has helped uphold across the Town’s financial operations.
